College & Career Guidance (CodeL32A)
Through our AVID courses and advisory program we provide all students with the opportunity to prepare for life after high school. Whether that be in a trade program, city job, military life or college we are constantly helping our scholars plan and be introduced to the fields of their interest. We also provide our students with paid and unpaid internship opportunities and the chance to take college level courses aligned with their career goals. Each grade level takes multiple college trips a year and we host a variety of different career days at our campus.

AP for All
Research shows that students who take Advance Placement courses and exams are more likely to graduate college on time; the gains are greatest for low-income students and students of color. The AP for All initiative, part of New York City’s Equity and Excellence agenda, will brings new AP courses to our school. Our school receives rigorous training for new and continuing AP teachers. The city also helps our school leaders identify students who are ready for AP course work and prepare those students to address equity gaps.

STEAM

S.T.E.A.M. is present in all subjects and allows students to connect what they learn with what they see around them, and who they are. S.T.E.A.M. learning promotes student readiness for college, prepares them for a 21st century workforce, and provides opportunities for critical and design thinking.
